Bands and dumbbells are often used to strengthen the upper extremity in both fitness and rehab. But often, clients with shoulder impingement or rotator cuff history plateau or fail to improve with these exercises. Join Exercise Physiologist Amanda Harris to discuss how you can use suspension exercise to improve the mechanics of the “modern” shoulder so the upper extremity can be properly strengthened without dysfunction or pain.
  • The postural and mechanical challenges faced by the modern shoulder
  • What must be resolved prior to working on the shoulder
  • The common underlying cause of shoulder dysfunction/ pain
  • The important role played by the shoulder girdle in trunk stability/ control
  • Specific suspension exercises to restore healthy shoulder mechanics
